KINDERGARTEN
A good world to imitate

THE PEDAGOGY

In the first seven years of life children learn to walk, to talk, to think and to feel part of a good world, full of wonder and imagination.

With the example of others children learn by imitation to grow in the right way. Not only gestures, but also feelings of people around them are absorbed, and this is how they learn those moral qualities that will be decisive for their future.

Children grow and learn through imitation; thus, it becomes absolutely important that teachers move and work with sensible and imitable gestures, attentive to the rhythms of day, week and seasons. This attention leads children to live healthy habits that will accompany them throughout the school path.

Will and impulse to ‘do’ are innate in every child; these characteristics are developed through the experience of many craft or home-life activities where daily gestures are reproduced rhythmically. Among these activities are gardening, tidying-up and bread-making.

Games are held in a very refined environment, where natural materials such as wood or wool are privileged, with simple and essential toys: the creativity of the child can make them live as they wish.

Games allow children to fully express themselves, in the freedom of movement, giving space to “creating” and “transforming”, drawing on personal imagination, in relation with classmates and environment. Games are considered important social and relational experiences, where children have the opportunity to perceive themselves, in comparison with others.

Children’s strong imagination abilities are nourished every day through fairy tales telling, puppet theatre, nursery rhymes and round dances that contribute to create that serene atmosphere necessary for their growth.

THE THREE SECTIONS

Our kindergarten is organised in three sections. Each section has a teacher. In case of numerous classes, the teacher is supported by a class assistant.
The three sections are heterogeneous and welcome children between 3 and 7 years of age.
Each section follow homogeneous programs sharing the same ceremonies and holidays.
